Welcome to the English version of my German web project Quantenwelt.de. On this project I describe physics on a basic level. The idea is to describe theories and phenomena without mathematical equations. The English version will not be a translation of the German pages but will consist of textes I wrote originally in English. This first page of this project is a description of the atomic origin of magnetism.
